The Flying Dutchman is a 20′ racing dinghy developed in the early ’50s, that raced in the Olympics from the ’60s to the ’90s. This one was built in the late ’60s or early ’70s, and is built out of molded wood. We fixed some rot, beefed up the structure a bit, and totally refinished it. Now we’re sorting out the rigging trying to get it in the water for some racing on New England lakes. This thing was pretty high tech back in the day!
